Bianca Flair

I love the fact that RVA's fashion scene has really taken off over the past few years. I've noticed a lot of new boutiques and consignment shops sprouting up throughout the city and I'm loving it! Saturday I had the pleasure of visiting Bianca Flair, which is a resale and consignment shop that opened up this past March. I'll start off by saying that the location of this boutique is perfect, not only is it located in the heart of the city but its also surrounded by VCU's campus, which makes it accessible to so many students, and passersby! Bianca Flair had so many pieces that caught my eye, from great accessories to dresses and shoes, if you're a fan of consignment shops you definitely want to add this boutique to your list. I got the opportunity to meet and chat with the owner of Bianca Flair, Ms. Kimberly Newsome she is an amazing individual she was so warm and welcoming. We ended up talking for over an hour about her boutique and life itself, it was a great conversation to say the least. I cant wait for my next visit to Bianca Flair, and if you're in the Richmond or VCU area please stop by this amazing boutique and check it out!

Outfit of The Day

I must say out of all of this seasons Summer trends ankle strap sandals have to be one of my favs. You can pair them with anything and they look great, and can really bring life to any outfit. I wore my Prabal Gurung for Target ankle strap sandals the other day, paired with an H&M top and my Urban Outfitters BDG high waisted jeans. I'm a huge fan of  BDG jeans they fit like a glove, Urban Outfitters typically runs a sale on them every few months and you can snatch them up for $39 bucks! Here are a few snaps of my OOTD..

Day Trip to VA Beach

Saturday my babe and I decided to hit the road and head to Virginia Beach, which is roughly about 2 hours away from Richmond. We just wanted a change of scenery which we often do, so we find ourselves hitting the road most weekends just to get away for a bit. We got to the beach around 8 or so just as the sun was beginning to set, ended up grabbing dinner at one of our fav restaurants McCormick & Schmicks, and walked the strip and sat on the beach until around 2am. It was such a nice spur of the moment mini getaway, there's something so peaceful and serene about the beach at night! It was so quiet the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore was all I could hear, needless to say it was the perfect way to spend my Saturday! Here are a couple of candids of me at VA Beach..

Summer Hair...

After months and months of contemplating on whether I wanted to get highlights, all over color, or ombre, I finally decided on highlights and a fresh cut! I must say I'm really loving my hair at the moment, it looks and feels amazing. There's nothing like big full sexy hair, I'm natural and have been for over 10 years, so my hair handles color really well. I make sure to wash and condition my hair using super moisturizing products. I'm currently using Shea Moistures Curl & Shine Shampoo and I follow up with one of my staple conditioners Aussie Moist. I've been using Aussie Moist for years especially on days when I leave my hair curly, and it always makes my curls pop and keeps my hair moisturized, who knew it work just as good when I straighten! Yesterday I attended a back room shopping event at Clementine, an adorable consignment shop/ boutique in Carytown.  I'm a huge fan of consignment shops so I was excited to attend the event, and be able to check out the back room goodies! I must say I'm now a fan of Clementine, they have everything from Evan Picone blazers to Chanel bags, I was really pleased with the selection of designer denim as well. I scored a great pair of earrings and a unique little gold cuff, I got both for $25 which is definitely a steal in my opinion. They have pieces for every budget, I eyed some really cute skirts for 12 bucks, along with a ton of cute jewelry that was priced very reasonably. I walked through the store and made my way to the back room, which was filled with racks of beautiful dresses, tops, shoes, and shorts you name it they had it. Its one of those stores where you're bound to leave with something every time you visit! Ladies you should definitely take a peak inside of this lovely shop whenever you're in the Carytown area!

The ARTisan Cafe

One of my favorite local events The ARTisan Cafe will be back next Saturday June 8th 2013, at the Observation Deck at City Hall! The ARTisan Cafe is a great event to attend if you’re a lover of unique and eclectic jewelry, art, clothing and other handmade goodies! This will be my 3rd time attending and I can’t wait; the last time I went I left with some great vintage earrings! Events like this are a great way to get to know and network with local artisans. So much talent lies right here in the RVA, so if you’re in the Richmond area you definitely don’t want to miss this event!

New Music: Solange "Locked In Closets"

Ok, so I'm not sure why I haven't purchased Solange's latest album entitled True, being that it was digitally released in November of last year. I'm a huge fan of Solange, she has such a unique voice and a dope style to go along with it. I loved her sophomore album Sol-Angel And The Hadley St. Dreams, I mean from start to finish this album was simply amazing! I love the eccentric vibe that Solange seems to naturally exude. Her latest video "Locked In Closets" was shot in various locations throughout Brooklyn, and serves as a little teaser to debut her partnership with Refinery29 and Absolut Tune. Here's a snippet of Solo performing "Locked In Closets" along with a few pics from the actual video shoot...
