Summer Slides

This Summer I swear its all about the slide; as much as I love a great 70's- esq inspired platform and chunky heel- I must say I am really diggin' slides this Summer. After seeing them just about everywhere from magazines, to my fav go-to bloggers, I decided to take a trip to Forever21 (as they have an amazing Summer sandal collection this year) and not to disappoint they had tons of great slides. I ended up snatching up a super cute gold pair, I could've easily bought them in every color but I didn't want to get carried away, I hate impulse shopping! So, I'll see how I feel by weeks end and may make another trip to Forever21, and add a few more pair to my Summer sandal collection. For under $20 bucks you really cant beat it! FYI if you're shopping online I would say go up at least a half size I typically wear a 7 1/2 and had to get my sandals in an 8. Ladies, what sandals will you be adding to your collections this summer?

Spring Fever!

Uhhh I'm so over Winter, I cant take another day of below freezing temps, single digit weather, snow, sleet, or anything else that resembles Winter. With that being said I do realize that we're approaching the end of February, so Spring is definitely near although it doesn't seem like it. In another month or so the temperature will begin to rise, flowers will begin to bloom, and we can put away all of our Winter layers and make room for our Spring wardrobes. Spring just happens to be my favorite season, well on second thought one of my favorite seasons, I'm a Summer girl for sure but with Spring comes bright colors, my toes can finally reappear again, and lots of floral print will begin to invade my closet! Here are a few pieces on my Spring Wishlist. Until next time bundle up and stay warm my friends!

Repeat Offender!

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this in previous post, but I'm definitely not that chick whose afraid to repeat/ recycle the same piece or pieces. I try to buy timeless pieces that I can wear for years to come, and that can be mixed and matched with other items to keep it fresh. I'm also not afraid to be photographed in the same outfit/ pieces twice because 9 times out of 10 I've created a completely different look, almost to the point where you may not even notice if you've seen me in it before! I'm not a millionaire just yet, so buying cloths just to wear once or twice isn't happening. I have some friends that cringe at the thought of posting a pic on Insta or any social media for that matter, wearing a repeat outfit, it makes me chuckle just at the thought of it! So, I just wanted to share with you guys a few of my looks based around one piece, I love this Leopard Print dress that I got from H&M a few years back, I've paired it with everything from my over the knee boots, to my vintage Motorcycle Boots. It truly looks good with just about anything and its always an easy go to outfit when I'm pressed for time, or just cant figure out what to wear.

A Few New Fall Pieces

I absolutely love the Summer, so I'm sad that it has come to an end I swear this year seems to be going by so fast! However as much as I love Summer weather I absolutely am a stan for Fall Fashion, lots of layers, boots, hats and scarves are definitely my thing. I'm so excited that in another few weeks I can pull out my Moto Jacket with my boots and really get creative with my looks. I love the colors that come with the Fall wardrobe like mustard, ox blood, and my all time fav lots of black. I picked up a few new pieces from H&M a few weeks ago, I'm in process of building up my Fall wardrobe and will be taking you guys on the journey with me, sharing my latest finds, and showing you how I incorporate them into my everyday looks, mixing old with the new.

Love the texture and color of this top, and its nice and thick!
Mustard is one of my fav colors it really compliments my complexion so you will be seeing me in this color a ton this Fall/Winter.

(P.S this is the actual color of this top, 1st pic was without the flash)

Love this shirt dress, I plan on pairing this with a pair of tights and my over the knee boots or a cute pair of booties.

This piece is lined on the inside which is really nice.

Happy Fall Ladies, stay tuned to BarclayINC to see more of my Fall wardrobe and looks!

Eshakti Set!

Hey Loves, I feel like I've completely neglected the blog over the past month between being super busy with family and just life itself, I really haven't had the time to blog as usual. Things are starting to calm down so be on the look out for some great upcoming post about Summer fashion, my Summer vacays, music festivals etc. A few months back I did a post on a beautiful crop top and midi set that  had been gifted to me from Eshakti! I wanted to share some candid's I took in this adorable set. I actually haven't worn it out as a set yet, but I did mix it up a bit by wearing the skirt and pairing it with a black crop top, which made for a really cute look. I'm waiting for the perfect time and place to wear it to as an actual set, so please believe you will be seeing a lot more of this little outfit before Summer is all said and done with. For right now here's a little sneak peak! Ladies please make sure you check out Eshakti.com they have lots of amazing affordable pieces that can be tailored to your size and shape! My looks from RVA Fashion Week!

So, as you most likely already know if you're one of my regular readers, or you follow my Instagram I had the honor on being on board this year as one of RVA Fashion Week's badged bloggers. This gave me VIP access to all of the events that were being held all week long. Unfortunately with my busy schedule I wasn't able to attend my first event until Friday night, which was the Designer Showcase which was held at a new venue called The Broadberry! The energy in that room was absolutely amazing the show including designs from Chilalay, Abigail Mpofu, and lots of other wonderful local designers! When I arrived to the venue the line was already halfway down the sidewalk, so I knew this was going to be a pretty dope evening! I had access to a lovely VIP lounge that was lined with white sofas, I sat down for a few minutes but with a good DJ, drinks, and a room full of energetic souls I ended up standing for most of the night. My look for that night was something fun and light I ended up going with my leopard dress and faux leather vest, which I actually wore to VA Fashion Week last year. Yes, I'm definitely a repeat offender, I mean why buy something if your only going to wear it once or twice, its so funny because I have friends that are like "I cant wear that again I've already posted pictures on Insta with me in this outfit", I am definitely not that girl! If anything I love showing how to create various looks utilizing the same pieces. So, anyway I paired it with my Timbs, which were perfect being that I was on my feet all night. I went with a bit more dressier looks for that other events I attended over the weekend which were the Boutique Fashion Show, which was held at The National and the City Skyline Trunk Show at City Hall Observation Deck. On Saturday night I went with my white crochet H&M dress, wooden cut- out LuLu's platforms, and my favorite yellow clutch from Anne Taylor, and on Sunday I decided to go with my vintage yellow beaded top I purchased from Fan Tastic Thrift, high-waisted pip- lined black pants from H&M, and my ASOS heels! Here are some amazing shoots captured my my good friend and photographer David Lowell!

As soon as I walked up to the venue I saw my Dress Twin and fellow blogger from River City Uprising! She looked so pretty and was really sweet so of course we had to take some pics together!

My bracelet was actually hooked on to my dress at this point lol!

Excuse my wind blown expression its super windy atop 20 stories, I did the best I could : )

I ended up running into an old co worker/ friend of mine whom I've known for many years and fell in love with her super edgy cut!

This is when I actually took advantage of the wind per the direction of my friend/ photographer it made for some really dope shots.

Stay tuned for more to come on my experiences at RVAFW coming later this week, have a wonderful week folks!

eShakti!

Ok, I just want to start this post by saying I'm head over heals in love with this two piece bralette and skirt set that was gifted to me by eShakti.com. The company reached out to me about styling one of their pieces and sharing it with my readers, I was able to pick from lots of beautiful dresses, and of course I just had to pick this retro two piece set. I'm so loving the crop top and skirt trend that seems to be on the rise since the weather broke, and this little number fits perfectly in line with my summer wardrobe! eShakti has tons of vintage and retro inspired dresses, that are custom to tailor fit your body, to add to that their prices are amazing and definitely budget friendly. You can choose from various neck and hemline options, as well as the length you want your skirt or dress to be which I found to be a plus. When making my selection I was also asked to select my height so that my pieces would be a perfect fit. I was really impressed by the selection of unique beautifully designed pieces they had to offer, and the different options they offered you to customize your piece! Stay tuned to BarclayINC to see how I style this amazing set from eShakti and please check out their website especially if you're a lover of vintage inspired pieces such as myself!
